I would punch this director in the face if I met him.

Reviewface from from Milton Keynes, 25th February, 2008

How messed up is it to make a film about the death of such a legend, and create emphasis on his death not life, And to make the gut who kiled him a well known name which is what he wanted when he should just be forgotten like the fool he is. my rating -1000...

Not bad

A Customer from London, 11th April, 2008

Although rather macabre, this portrayal of Mark Chapman seems to follow his life quite accurately and the locations are all real. The film never really gets to the answer of why he killed Lennon and the murder remains a brutal and pointless act by a deluded and confused man. If you know nothing about this, then it is worth a watch but people familiar with the event will find nothing new here. Fame is what Chapman wanted and making films like this only in the end satisfy him.

interesting

A Customer from london england, 15th July, 2008

I found this film interesting although rather slow but it did give a viewpoint on how and what Chapman was feeling at the time of the murder and also what happened in the aftermath. Worth a watch but be prepared for a long film in documentary fashion

Mind Games

zorilla from from Kew, Richmond, 9th July, 2008

It's hard to know who this film will appeal to - judging by the previous comments, it's never going to be a flick favoured by Beatle's fans. Of course Lennon was taken far too early, but like most people who die before their time, the real person has become lost in the public's mythologizing and we forget that Lennon was far closer to a nasty, hypocritical, cruel tongued, homophobic racist than the saint he has become in the public's consciousness. Mark Chapman was aware of Lennon's contradictory nature. It tied in neatly with his passion for Holden Caulfield's rejection of the phoney baloney adults he encounters in Catcher In The Rye. He understood the irony of a man who owned substantial tracts of real estate and herds of prizewinning cattle singing 'Imagine no possessions, I wonder if you can'. Of course this understanding doesn't justify his actions and this film certainly doesn't make any attempt to glamorise Chapman. What it does do is give us the chance to examine and meditate on our own feelings about fame and celebrity in an intelligent and non-exploitative way. I think it was absolutely the right decision to cast an unknown actor in the Mark Chapman role. Jonas Ball gives a subtle, understated but electrifying performance and is certainly an actor I’ll be keeping an eye out for.

Not Good!

L11 from from Irvine, 7th July, 2008

This film was terrible. It looked low budget and the acting was very bad. I wouldn't waste your time if I were you.
