An entertaining slow-paced thriller

DJM666 from from Walsall, 14th November, 2007

A good Memento-lite thriller, which is well made with an interesting plot and strong performances from a good cast - Joseph Gordon-Levitt is very good (much like he was in Brick), Jeff Daniels plays the part of a blind man well, Matthew Goode is fine as the bad guy and Isla Fisher and Carla Gugino are both good in their supporting roles.

This film is not as good as I hoped, I found it very slow not enough action to keep me interested.

Wow ! Classy performances !!

A Customer from Devon, 8th April, 2008

Jeff Daniels excels at making a difficult character come to life - what a performance matched by an incredible performance from Joseph Levitt Gordon. An incredible film but only 4 stars for one small unnecessary thing that spoilt an otherwise perfect movie.

The Lookout

Roma from from Harrogate, 19th July, 2008

I really enjoyed this film. It's a moving story and it depicts well the struggles of this young man through life following the drama of the accident. Even the description and the symptoms of the head trauma are realistic (frontal lobe syndrome). I would truly recommend it.

Enjoyable

Kinger from from Petersfield, 4th July, 2008

Ex high school jock has an accident and now has learning difficulties. Now works at a bank cleaning the floors in the evening and trying to get by the best he can. I'm not sure how much sympathy we're supposed to have with the lead character ( you get the impression he was a bit full of himself in his pomp), but you do feel for hm in his day to day struggles. Sharing an apartment with a blind man and befriended by a 'cool' ex school collegue with an ulterior motive for wanting to be mates, the story unfolds in a fluid manner exploring his relatonship with his flatmate , his parents and his new found friend and also the struggle to break free from his mental shackles. A good story well acted, with just enough suspense thrown in to keep you interested.
