Suprisingly Brilliant For A Straight-To-Dvd Film

RossiF from from Redditch, 2nd April, 2008

Ok. When you think of a film that wasen't at the cinema and went straight on to dvd, well i automatically think of: A Low Budget Boring Plot Rubbish Camera Angles I previously had rented Flood, which ticked all the boxes above, it was supposed to be a disaster movie but the whole movie turned out to be a disaster. But i felt bored one afternoon and decided to give this a go. This turned out to be one of the best Straight-To-Dvd films i have ever seen. No in fact thee best!! The front cover is not really what the film is about, so don't in this case, judge a book by it's cover. Beneath is more of a Psychological Thriller more than a horror, so if you liked 'The Sixth Sense' you will like this. There have been a number of bad reviews on this film, but i totally disagree with them. It's full of suspense, terror and has a weird creepiness to it. And has a great twist in the end ( I never saw that coming ). So please, rent this film! It's brill!! 5/5 Will be buying this film soon!!!

Pretty reasonable horror/mystery. Not outstanding but decent enough.

Does not do what it says on the tin.

rentacop from from Wrexham, 29th March, 2008

What we have here is Mtv giving us what they do best. Fast-food TV. I bought this movie with five British pounds expecting a spooky horror story, only to find out, 80 mins later, that horror has very little to do with it. I found that it felt more like a thriller than horror, and judging by the illustrations on the cover, you can understand why I thought this was horror. The storyline is very familiar to a certain other famous book (which will remain nameless in fear of spoilers), and the editing was fast and each scene was extremely short making the whole thing feel more like a trailer than a movie. But, I'm glad to say, the film does have its good points. I watched this movie with a massive hang-over (which is when Mtv reaches its peek in usefulness) and found that I was in fact, ever so slightly entertained. It was inoffensive at best, with a fair performance given by all. It was not slow or high on its own cleverness, and Nora Zahetner was very pleasing to look at. One star for not pi##ing me off. Worth a rent, but keep your five pounds for something that does what it says on the tin.

I am being generous giving this 3 stars. Its the kind of film you get on the Horror Channel so don't' expect to much. Holes in the plot which is quite silly, the actual premise of the film at the beginning had good promise but fails to deliver on many levels.
