vote for Williams

Kh08 from bristol, 15th July, 2007

Saw this whilst in the states A great film very much in the vain of Wag the Dog meets primary Colours. It follows Williams as a type of Jerry Springer who as many americans find the poltical balance in America crap decides to run for president. The story follows his election campaign through and after the election. A great supporting cast sees this as a smart comedy with punch that has an odd familiarity to it with voting in Florida during Bush's first election. As ever Williams gives some great speeches for me these made the film.

More Boring Than Actual Politics

NativityInBlack from , 8th May, 2008

i love Chris Walken.....i mean this is a guy taht i LOVE, i LOVE him (quote from nick of time) and robin williams has shown himself to be a fine actor in various roles , theoretically i should have liked this film alot - but i didnt, it just felt slow and plodding, and the humor was never that funny and the it never really captured the imagination... while her performance was good Laura Linney was very unlikable in my opinion which destroyed the feeling your supposed to have towards her character..... not bad par say, just very dissapointing

Williams does it again!

A Customer from SW London, 10th May, 2008

As far as storyline goes, this film does not dazzle! BUT I liked the subtle message behind the idea of the movie and what I also really liked was the one liners Williams delivered! He was definitely in good form in this flick....back to the Williams we are all used to! Didn't like the end, but I guess it was inevitable. But as politicians are all showman, that talk a good talk but do nothing to back it up, I quite like the idea that at least they can entertain and leave me laughing! I guess that way many people wouldn't notice that all they are are clowns diguising as politicians putting on a jolly good show!

Good Film

steveaber from from Aberystwyth, 22nd July, 2008

Good film quite funny in parts and boasts a great cast. gives a background look into American politics not likely to be true but worth watching!

Good entertainment, though not hillariously funny, there are still some good lines in it.

Political Humour

A Customer from Essex, 10th July, 2008

I's refreshing to see Robin Williams in this unlikely role. He plays the part of the potential President with passion and great humour. It's a powerful film for Williams and he pulled it off with flare. The story is quite endearing and you really do develop a real sympathy for this character who stands up for his beliefs and remains true to himself. A big thumbs-up for Williams.
