Something To Look Forward To...

Desy from Northern Ireland, 28th July, 2007

Loved this eerie and claustrophobic little ghost-story and was particularly impressed with Emily Blunt (The Devil Wears Prada), whom has become a firm favourite on the basis of two performances. Narratively speaking the tension builds at the perfect pace and throws up some wonderfully sublime [ghostly] set-pieces. Lookin' forward to seeing this on DVD with a truck-load of extras.

Spooky

Quoth from , 21st January, 2008

Car sharing between two people seems to be quite a common event particularly amongst that vunerable group of young adults known as 'students'. So it is with the two protagonists of this movie. Strangers to one another, broke and needing to reach their hometown before Christmas a pair embark on a journey in a beaten up old motor, and on route they come upon a detour which threatens their lives. This could have been a lot of movies that have been released recently about road trips, hill billies and spooks, many of which have been a little bit lacking in engaging the brain. For a while it feels like it could be one type of film before it cunningly shows us that its lead up has been a red herring all along. Fortunately, and making a pleasant change theres no mutants here. Its a good old fashioned ghost story and a very satisfying one, as two strangers have to learn to work together to survive a night on a cold, dark and haunted road.

Almost perfect

A Customer from Aberdeen, 7th May, 2008

I really liked this film. It's not too scary, more creepy - probably not one for you blood and gore fans. It's a good old fashioned ghost story which is well written and has really good acting. I gave 4 stars - wasn't scary enough for me but a great watch all the same. Rent it!
