The film has no brain 2

GreenwichPaul from , 27th August, 2007

Wes Craven's The Hills Have Eyes remains one of my favourite horror films of all time; gritty, funny and relentless. I quite liked Aja's updating which made the film more of a 'fantasy' but had enough visual inventiveness and good pacing to keep me engrossed. The Hills Have Eyes 2 came along hot on the heels of Aja's remake, doubtlessly to cash in on its success and it's a disaster. Despite some attempts at topicality the dialogue is pretty flat and the story non-existent - its just a group of soldiers being picked off one by one. This tedious excuse for a few gore effects strung together on the thinnest of plots had more than outstayed its welcome after 30 minutes and I couldn't even be bothered to fast forward through the chapters to see if if it improved. Dire!

Dead is never better.

JediSi from , 1st October, 2007

'The Hills have Eyes II' truly is a disappointment compared to its predecessor. The first film worked because one sympathizes with the family especially during parts where they were being terrorized by the mutants. However, this sequel just tarnishes the good reputation the first one had. The plot is about a group of National Guard trainees on a search and rescue mission gone wrong. Unfortunately, we never end up sympathizing with the characters in this one. Basically, the whole movie is about showing as much violence and gore as possible and that's it. You just see a cat and mouse game between the trainees and the mutants throughout the film. I usually always watch every sequel to a good film, but I wouldn’t recommend this one at it does detract somewhat from the previous.

Oh my god!

A Customer from North Yorkshire, 18th April, 2007

Dont get me wrong i love horror and gore. The first hills have eyes was brilliant. Not much of a story line but still enough blood and guts to make you turn your head away. This one, again the story line was predictable but then thats the reason i went to see the film! Coz i knew everyone was gonna die! However I have never actually wanted to throw up during a film before. This film is sick, gross and gorey to the max! It did excatly what it said on the tin. Warning-if you did not like the first one-dont watch this one!!!

Much better than people say.

Jan from , 15th August, 2008

This film is far better than people say it it. A group of young army kidetts go on a traning misson to find themselfs in big truble. I don't think this was any where hear as hardhitting at the first but makes up for it with orignol. Some grate ideas hear. Plus it was ritton by Wes cravon and son and there had to be somthing speshol about it. Try it as with the first you need to have a strong tummy to sit through but not as much as Hills have eyes one.

The HIIlls Have Eyes 2

chuz from from London, 13th August, 2008

People were saying that this film weren't good but I wanted to see the film for myself and they were right. Had a few scary moments, but it lacks story and the filmmakers wanted to put the gore in more instead of foucsing of what the film supposed to be........ scary. However it's not bad but not great either and not better than the last film.
