Chucky's back. And this time he's got a girlfriend, Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly). Their way of having a good time is going on a murder-spree road trip, killing any and everything that gets in their way. Along for the ride are Jade (Katherine Heigl) and Jesse (Nick Stabile), a pair of teens on the run from their uncaring parents. As the body count rises, Jade and Jesse must deal with the consequences of their killer dolls. This fourth installment in the CHILD'S PLAY series is a campy horror extravaganza.

Radio Times

This fourth encounter with devilish doll Chucky is the most entertaining of the Child's Play series, thanks to Ronny Yu's colourful direction, a wickedly humorous tone and the irresistible presence of Jennifer Tilly. Clearly inspired by the tongue-in-cheek playfulness of Scream, there's more laughter than slaughter as Chucky and new dolly girl Tiffany plot to escape their diminutive frames. Although the story is lightweight even by the standards of a horror spoof, the witty references to horror classics of past and present and the hilarious interplay (and intercourse) between the rubber lovers resurrect this series from its movie grave.

Halliwell's Film Guide

Horror movie done with some panache, and a nod or two in the direction of The Bride of Frankenstein.

Bad Barbie!

espedair from Wiltshire, 22nd January, 2005

Ok I have wondered for ages what the fuss was all about when it came to Bridge of Chucky (Chucky 4 this is btw). I've never seen any of the others so thought I'd grab the latest and check it out!

I was suprised that although it conforms to many of the stereotypes of modern horror (heavy metal soundtrack, dressing and leather, multiple piercings etc) its still both funny and just gory enough to entertain while not being stomach turning! Most of the peripheral characters are just there as cannon fodder for Chucky but you still care enough to find out what happens next!

In fact Jennifer Tilly as 'Tiffany' is excellent both vaguely beliveable and, ultra twisted while still being quite likeable! The voice of chucky, Brad Douriff (what else has he done recently?' is great as the evil Chucky, who makes quite a change as a villian who really has a sadistic sense of humour. Also the 'find a more interesting way to kill people' is pretty funny.

All in all it's a great Friday night film with a few beers or fans of the genre. I shall be looking the others up soon!

Far better than Child's Play but don't get that excited about it

McClennan from from St Helens, 15th January, 2006

Completely ridiculous but enjoyable sequel to the Child's Play video nasties starring the ever sublime and sexy Jennifer Tilly as the ex-lover of Chucky who wants to bring him back to life. Cue homage, parody, bad taste, cheese and comedy overload with varying results. It tailed off in the second half of the film but up until then, well basically up until Jennifer Tilly changes, it was entertaining. It was leagues ahead of the original films anyway.

Chucky Gets Lucky!

Anthony from Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, 14th July, 2004

Stop right there! I know what you're thinking.... Its a cheesy teen horror about a man whos trapped inside a kids doll and he runs around killing people. WRONG.

I thought exactly the same until a friend twisted my arm into renting it from DVDS365. I watched the film and i gotta say.. i was glued to the screen! I saw Child's Play (the original 'Chucky' film) and enjoyed it on a cheesy horror level (in the same way people enjoy 'Scream' and 'The Dentist') but this modern sequel is more than just a horror. Yeah sure, maybe its a bit grim and gory.. and yeah it made me jump in a few places... but this thing is hilarious at the same time. Chucky has now fully accepted his incarnation as a doll and rekindles his love-hate relationship with Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly). The whole story centres around the dolls and how they trick a couple of teenagers into transporting them to the graveyard where Chucky's original human body is buried. It all turns a bit sour for the teenagers and ultimately the dolls get it pretty tough at the end too! Great fun, it's a horror, drama, black comedy and action all rolled into one! don't just think its a dumb movie about dolls. 5 stars

Best Chucky Film Ever

A Customer from Aylesbury, 2nd March, 2006

Excellent film for sick Horror and chucky fans who also like a laugh. Far better than the latest seed of chucky. Scenes which take the mick out of the originals so well and the characters are fantastically cheesy. One for horror buffs who have a history of horor watching going back to the 80s.

All a bit strained really

Savage from from London, England, 1st November, 2007

The first 'Child's play' film was genuinely creepy, but a couple of sequels later and the doll just wasn't doing it any more. Creator Don Mancini clearly didn't want to let it lie, though, so here's Chucky once again, stitched back together by his old girlfriend, and just as annoyed at things as ever he was. This time around, there's a good deal more humour, although most of it pretty obvious and lame, and there's also Jennifer Tilly, basically doing an evil Jessica Rabbit impression (right down to the crazy curves). She's cool as all get out, and the film is kind of entertaining as the two dolls try to get themselves into the hot little bodies of their unknowing teenie cohorts. But it lacks both inspiration and spontaneity: you get the feeling it's all been pre-packaged to the very last detail. Nice to see clips of 'Bride of Frankenstein', though: now that's a great movie.

Best Of the Sequels

Dannielle Fray from Ipswich,UK, 18th August, 2007

Ressurected by his former girlfriend,Tiffany(Jennifer Tilly) - Chucky soon heads on another murderous spree and kills tiffany sending her spirit into a freaky doll like him. Lots of movie in-jokes,lots of sick over-the-top blood and guts and self-knowing humor makes this the best of the chucky/childs play sequels.
