This bittersweet story of childhood innocence and friendship stars Robin Williams as Jack Powell, a boy who grows four times faster than normal--by the time Jack reaches his 10th birthday, he looks like a 40-year-old man. After years of being tutored at home by Mr. Woodruff (Bill Cosby), Jack convinces his overprotective parents (Diane Lane and Brian Kerwin) to send him to public school. The children are less than friendly, but with the help of his fifth grade teacher (Jennifer Lopez), Jack wins the kids over. Robin Williams is heartbreaking as a 10-year-old overcoming a unique physical disability.

Radio Times

In Big, Tom Hanks played a boy in the body of a man. This comedy drama repeats the trick by casting Robin Williams as a ten-year-old who looks like a 40-year-old, thanks to an ageing disorder that has made his body mature at an incredible rate. Diane Lane and Brian Kerwin give subtle performances as Jack's confused parents, and there's a sweet contribution from actress/singer Jennifer Lopez as his teacher. Unfortunately, Williams goes over the top again and his exuberance is unchecked by director Francis Ford Coppola, but at least the film's heart is in the right place.

LIGHT HARTED, FUN AND LOVEABLE

A Customer from NEWCASTLE, 24th July, 2004

I am into the kind of films about people who are different. The movie ' Jack' has Robin Williams play Jack, a child with a condition which means he is actually a child trapped in a man's body. When he goes to school all the kids are mean to him. But as they start to know him this film stems off a story about childhood, friendship & family. With a fantastic and moving performance from Robin Williams. must see. ****

Jack By Francis Ford Coppola the follow up to Godfather

Gavin Fowler from North east England, 8th July, 2004

Jack stars Robin Williams as a kid in an adults body. It follows Jacks experiences in coping with life and school. However this novie is sickly sweet. At times you will want to pull every hair out of Robin Williams hairy body. However it is not beyond redemption, and Robin Williams is ably supported by Diane Lane and Jennifer Lopez. One for young kids but as an adult its a no no.

Brillant story

Sexyvamp from from Portsmouth, 23rd January, 2008

I love this film its brilliant, the storyline and the characters. I believe this to be one of my favorite Robin Williams films. He portrays a child with a ageing disorder where at ten he looks 40yrs old, he acts and portrays the role very well. Its funny and tear jerking, an exceptional movie.

Whole family enjoyed this

prmiaj from Devon, 21st June, 2005

We let our three children aged 9,7 and 5 watch this. It was suitable for them, except for one small part when they are in the tree house. Watch it and decide for yourself on that score though. It was a good story, very diferent and interesting. Robin Williams is such an excellent actor, I have yet to see anything that he has not been great in!

Worth watching.

Good, but...

ebbyru from from Hornchurch, 23rd May, 2008

Forgot most of this film, I watched this when it came out, used to watch it all the time, but I guess this film isn't as good as I remembered which is odd in a way. But if you haven't seen this film I would definitely recommend you to watch it!

well made

A Customer from Newark, 17th April, 2008

This film is about a boy (Robin Williams) who grows alot more than other kids, eg, when he is age 10 he is really 40! It is a good film and is funny in places but also sad, very watchable.
